Instituto de Rehabilitación y Enseñanza Especial, AC (I.R.E.E., A.C.)

WHO WE ARE: It is a specialized school for deaf children and children with learning problems belonging to low-income families in the city and its surroundings ranging from 3 years of age to 20 years of age. Children require special methods and therapies that do not exist within the system of the Mexican public education secretary.
Since its founding, IREE has operated based on donations and events to benefit the school since children do not pay tuition or fees. In some cases, IREE helps with transportation for children and their families so they can get to and from school.
WHAT WE DO: At IREE, children are taught not only academic and special education but also manual language, lip reading and, if they have auditory residue, they are oralized. That is, they are taught to speak.
They are also taught various workshops such as baking, art and recreational activities outside of school.
IREE OBJECTIVE: It is important that the family understands and recognizes that their special child can learn, become self-sufficient, work and become another participant within their community.
Something that depends on the families is to recognize their achievements so that, hand in hand with school, the child increases his or her self-esteem.
IREE is a fundamental nucleus for these families not only because education is essential but because here it is also a place that helps strengthen families by educating parents with special children, because they are helped with guidance regarding medical care and other needs. .
IREE works hand in hand with a network of non-governmental institutions dedicated to child, family and medical support, being able to channel children and their families to organizations specialized in their particular needs.
