About San Miguel Community Foundation

Our Mission
The San Miguel Community Foundation (SMCF) provides relief funds to benefit the neediest nonprofit institutions in San Miguel de Allende. The Foundation’s funds are awarded to institutions where a small difference can be made, where the greatest need is at the time of grant review, and for which funding from the community is unavailable.

History

The San Miguel Community Foundation (SMCF) was founded more than 30 years ago to provide these donors with a tax-deductible receipt in the United States. Today, the Foundation is much more than that. Thanks to generous bequests, the Foundation, with its own funds, makes donations available twice a year to charities in need, while also issuing tax-deductible receipts to Americans willing to make a tax-deductible donation through SMCF to their favorite charity in San Miguel.

Board of Directors

The SMCF Foundation is governed by a volunteer, unpaid Board of Directors that meets monthly. The members are active in the community, knowledgeable about its needs, and together they represent more than 50 years of life in San Miguel de Allende.
